Shielding calculations and staff doses in a PET/CT centre utilising 18F Fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG)

In this paper we present a PET-CT site planning with an application of the AAPM formalism to estimate the shielding requirements ina recently established PET-CT centre "Poliklinika Medikol" at University Hospital "Sestre milosrdnice", Zagreb. In addition, a preliminary study has been conducted to measure ambient dose rates, personal eauivalent doses to staff members and to examine which additional dose reduction measures might be needed.
