Microchip-Based Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) System

We have developed a simple, rapid and high sensitive bead-bed immunoassay system integrated on a microchip. The system, however, required a troublesome detection procedure. To improve the problem, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay system was integrated on a microchip. The system was applied to assays of proteins, peptides, and hormones. After several reaction and washing procedures, substrate solutions were injected and the resulting enzyme reaction product was monitored with TLM at the downstream part of the microchannel. The integrated ELISA system realized easier and more precise determination than the previous microchip immunoassay system.
