Zur Kenntnis der Barium- und Strontiumhalogenidhydrate / About Barium and Strontium Halide Hydrates

1973
The following alkaline earth halide hydrates could be found by differential thermal analysis: SrCl₂ · 6H₂O, SrCl₂ · 2H₂O, SrCl₂ · H₂O; SrBr₂ · 6H₂O, SrBr₂ · H₂O; SrJ₂ · 6H₂O, SrJ₂ · H₂O; BaCl₂ · 2H₂O, BaCl₂ · H₂O; BaBr₂ · 2H₂O, BaBr₂ · H₂O; BaJ₂ · 6H₂O, BaJ₂ · 2H₂O, BaJ₂ · H₂O. The dehydration temperatures increase with the size of the anions and decrease with the radius of the cations. The dehydration of SrCl₂ · H₂O gives rise to two DTA-peaks, but there is no half-hydrate formed according to high-temperature IR-measurements. The X-ray data of Sr J₂. H₂O are communicated.
