Research progress on the post-translational modification of TDP43 in motor neuron disease

2019
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS) is the most common motor neuron disease in adults.TDP43 is the main component of ubiquitinated protein aggregation in ALS patients.Various modifications exist in these abnormal TDP43 aggregates, such as ubiquitination, phosphorylation, acetylation or sumoylation. How and to what extent these post-translational modifications contribute to the formation of pathological TDP43 aggregates remain to be further studied. Key words: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; TAR DNA-binding protein 43; Post-translational modification
