Avaliação da qualidade de vida e consumo de frutas e verduras de universitários

2019
Practicing adequate eating habits results in protection and health promotion. University students, however, have risk factors for eating disorders, which cause damage to health and quality of life. In this sense, the objective of this study is to evaluate the quality of life and the consumption of fruits and vegetables by students of courses in the health area of the Colleges of Northern Minas Gerais. This is a cross-sectional, quantitative and analytical study. For the evaluation, a questionnaire was used with the health conditions of academics in the health area. 292 scholars participated in the study, 79.5% female and 59.6% aged between 21 and 30 years. It was found that 58% of academics consider their quality of life to be good or very good. Daily consumption of fruits and vegetables was reported by 8.2% and 26.9% of university students, respectively. Students with a positive perception of quality of life had a higher prevalence of adequate fruit consumption among students (p = 0.012). It is concluded that the consumption of fruits and vegetables is low among university students, with association with self-perception of quality of life.
