MEASURED MIT REACTOR NEUTRON FLUX DISTRIBUTIONS

1959
Flux measurements in the MITR core were made with cobalt and Formvar- covered copper wires. Cadmium ratios were determined for In, Cu, Au, and Co foils. Measurements were made in ihe moderator between elements as well as within the elements themselves. In the D/sub 2/O moderator the wires and strips of foils were suspended vertically from sets of collapsible Al arms attached to the fuel elements. Cadmium ratios taken at the center of the reactor in a voided thimble and disadvantage factors as measured by Cu wires suspended in and around the fuel elements are summarized. (W.D.M.)
