Spectroscopic and thermal characterization of some 4-glycopyranosylamino-pyrimidine derivatives

Abstract The characterization of seven 2-methoxy-4-glycopyranosylamino and 2-methylthio-4-glycopyranosylamino pyrimidine derivatives has been studied by elemental analysis, IR and UV spectra. The spectral data enable us to suppose that all the compounds are in the ketonic tautomeric form in the solid state. The thermal data show that all the compounds are anhydrous, melting at temperatures below their pyrolytic decompositions. The enthalpy values of these processes have been calculated from DSC curves.
