The immunosuppressive therapy itself is an atherogenic factor. The results of research of vessels condition in type 1 diabetes in children are given. In particular, the change in the ratio of thickness of the intima and media is marked. Risk categories are listed, as well as concentrations of lipid fractions before specific therapy. Statins are possible prevention factor in patients older than 18, however in pediatric practice the polyunsaturated fatty acids are principally prescribed.
