In this article, a short overview on pathologies of the appendix in pediatric patients is presented and imaging techniques as well as their implications for medical out- come are discussed. We address the question about the best imaging tool, ultrasound (US) or computed tomogra- phy (CT), which has been scientifically discussed for sev- eral years.
