Intérêt de la recherche et de l’éviction des polluants intérieurs chez l’enfant et rôles des conseillers médicaux en environnement intérieur

2016
Detection of indoor pollutants especially allergens, contributes to the diagnosis of respiratory allergic diseases like asthma, rhinitis and conjunctivitis, that are very frequent pediatric affection. Indeed, it allows to better precise the reservoirs of allergens and chemical pollutants of a child environment. Today, domestic tests facilitate greatly allergen detection and allow a direct evaluation of environmental allergenic load. Furthermore, quantitative tests show increasing standardization, sensitivity and specificity. Another interest of this evaluation is to propose personal avoidance measures. In primary prevention, global allergenic and indoor pollutants avoidance could be interesting for children at high risk of atopy but the exact conditions of this avoidance still need to be defined. In tertiary prevention in asthmatic children, global allergenic avoidance assisted by medical indoor environment counselors (MIEC) would help to improve the control of the disease. The roles of the MIEC are to evaluate the indoor exposition, to obtain objective data by domestic sampling and to propose personal avoidance measures that could be efficient but also feasible over time.
