Direct extrusion of foamable and crosslinkable sheets

Abstract In production plants for foamable and crosslinkable sheets, the melt temperature must always remain under the scorching temperature of the foaming and crosslinking agents. Hermann Schneider of Coperion Werner & Pfieiderer explains to Plastics Additives & Compounding how a process leading from the feedstock to the finished sheet in one single step is particularly economical and reduces material stress. At the same time, a sheet meeting high quality demands is produced.
