Properties of reflected optical signals in underground mine workings as used for automating the mining processes

1986
1. Analysis of the models of OS-environment interaction as controlled by known and random objects showed that reflected OS can be used to derive information for identifying the class of oject and its state, which is important for automating mining production processes. 2. Further analysis of the models of OS interaction is required according to the classification suggested in this paper for the cases of nonlinear interaction of an intensive OS with] the environment and the reflecting object and also for thermal and holographic monitoring. 3. Experimental study of the reflected OS in underground mines confirmed the validity of the models of OS interaction assumed in the paper and indicated the possibility of developing information-sensing systems for automation of mining processes.
