Heat exchanger and air conditioner equipped therewith

A heat exchanger (1) is provided with two vertical header pipes (2, 3) disposed parallel to each other with a space therebetween, a plurality of horizontal flat tubes (4) each disposed between the header pipes with a refrigerant passage (5) provided therein communicating into the header pipe, and corrugated fins (6) disposed between the flat tubes. The flat tube is formed so as to constitute one or more turns. A temperature sensing element (11) for detecting the refrigerant temperature is disposed at a position where a refrigerant in a gas-liquid two-phase state flows in the header pipe on the refrigerant pipe connection side. The temperature sensing element is attached to the header pipe by a metal fitting (12).
