Abstract A series of air-stable half-sandwich complexes of general formula [(η 6 - p -cymene)RuCl 2 (PR 3 )] [ p -cymene = 1-Me-4-Pr i C 6 H 4 ; PR 3 = PH 2 Fc ( 1 ), PH(CH 2 Fc) 2 ( 3 ); Fc = Fe(η 5 -C 5 H 4 )(η 5 -C 5 H 5 )] were synthesized from [{( p -cymene)RuCl 2 } 2 ] and the corresponding phosphine and fully characterized by IR and NMR ( 1 H, 13 C, 31 P) spectroscopy. Molecular structures of [(η 6 - p -cymene)RuCl 2 (PR 3 )] [PR 3 = PH 2 Fc ( 1 ), PH 2 CH 2 Fc ( 2 ), PH(CH 2 Fc) 2 ( 3 )] are reported.
