Kühlschmierung beim Schleifen keramischer Werkstoffe

1997
Within the last years cooling lubrication has become a more and more important cost factor in manufacturing. With machining of high performance ceramics the main task is the protection of the diamond tool against thermal stress. Depending on grinding condition, grinding wheel specification and topographical tool shape, the coolant works with different efficiency. With regard to tool wear and process behaviour in general mineral oil, advantages over water mixable coolants could be seen. In addition the coolant supply in the contact zone between the interacting partners has an important influence on the efficency of cooling lubrication. The experiments show that the optimization of the nozzle pipe design has the strongest influence on the working results in comparison with supply pressure and coolant volume rate.
