The present invention mainly provides an adjusting and controlling method for the change of the axial force of a multistage centrifugal pump during a running process, and particularly relates to a method for adjusting and controlling the multistage centrifugal pump which is provided with blade wheels all installed in the same direction and utilizes a balance disc to dynamically balance the axial force during the running process when the axial force is changed. When the multistage pump generates the axial force increment because of the abrasion of various sealing gaps in the running process, the pressure in a balance chamber is reduced at different stages by adjusting a throttle mechanism in the adjusting and controlling device to adjust the leakage flow rate in the adjusting and controlling device. The balance force of a balance disc is correspondingly increased at different stages, and timely and correct compensation in an opposite direction are carried out to the axial force increment generated by the abrasion of the sealing gap in the running process. The MTBF of the multistage pump is prolonged, and the average service life of the pump is improved. The present invention has the advantages of simple structure and reasonable design and is suitable for multistage centrifugal pumps with structural forms, such as a spiral case type, or a guide vane type, a horizontal type or a vertical type, etc.
