Plane strain deformation microstructure of warm-worked aluminum

2009
Abstract Warm-worked microstructure of plane strain compressed commercially pure aluminum to a thickness reduction of 65% has been characterized by transmission electron microscopy. Subgrain size, subgrain boundary misorientations under different temperatures and strain rates were measured. The scaling theory original applied to the cold-worked deformation microstructure has been applied to the current study. The relationship between the flow stress and the subgrain size has also been established.
