Clinical Observation of Xianlinggubao Plus Alendronate on Postmenopausal Osteoporosis

Objective:To investigate the effects of Xianlinggubao plus alendronate on postmenopausal osteoporosis,and their safety and adaptation included.Methods:By random number generating method,156 patients with postmenopausal osteoporosis were randomly divided into a treatment group treated with Xianlinggubao capsule plus alendronate,control group A only with Xianlinggubao capsule,and control group B only with alendronate.The pain of the patient before treatment,3 months and 6 months after treatment were assessed.At the same time,the bone mineral density(BMD) of the patient before treatment and 6 months after treatment were recorded.The data was statistically analyzed with spss13.0 software.Results:There was significant difference before and after 3 months treatment in the score of pain in three groups(P0.01,P0.01,P0.01),but the difference in treatment group was higher than other two control groups(P0.01,P0.05).After 6 months treatment,all the scores of pain in three groups had changed significantly to the ones before treatment(P0.01,P0.01,P0.01),but the scores of pain in treatment group were lower than the ones in two control groups(P0.01,P0.01).The BMD of both vertebral and ward in treatment group after 6 months treatment were higher than before(P0.01,P0.01).There was no significant difference before and after treatment in the score of the BMD in two control groups.Conclusion:Xianlinggubao plus alendronate has definite therapeutic effects on the patient with postmenopausal osteoporosis.
