Synthesis and Process Optimization of Tonalide Musk

By changing the composition of catalyst for a benefited synthesis reaction of an intermediate of 1,1,3,4,4,6-hexamethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalene(HMT),n(AlCl3)∶ n(H2SO4) =10∶1,with the reaction time 70 min,the yield of HMT was 86%.Tonalide Musk(AHMT) was purified by low temperature crystallization of saturating ethanol solution,which replaced the previously distillation and recrystallization operation.The total yield of perfume production was 80%.The synthestic technology of AHMT is optimized.
