The apparatus comprises: an interface board and service board. The method and apparatus of an embodiment of the present invention, by providing the packet encapsulation received VLAN tag, the VLAN tag and the user device and the virtual home gateway correspond to, i.e. to achieve identification and isolation virtual home gateway through the VLAN tag, it is possible to use of limited resources, a large number of virtual home gateway function provides a virtual home gateway, and to meet the high performance, small size, low power requirements.
