Word-Recognition and Word-Production: Data from Pathology

Brain injury may impair the components of language in a highly selective fashion. In many instances these dissociations are not transparent to our “conmon sense”, and often they even resist smooth integration into existing linguistic and/or psychological models. This paper will furnish no answers. But we hope that it will help to ask more precise questions with regard to the processes involved in word recognition and in word production.
