Field emission electron source based on porous material and display device

2015
The invention discloses a field emission electron source based on a porous material and a display device. The electron source includes a rear substrate, which is provided with a bottom electrode, an insulation film, and an MIM multilayer film structure of a top electrode. The electron source is characterized in that the insulation film is composed of a barrier layer and a porous layer, wherein the barrier layer is close to one side of the bottom electrode and has a thickness no more than 20nm, and the porous layer is close to one side of the top electrode and has a thickness more than five times of that of the barrier layer. By optimizing the thicknesses of the barrier layer and the porous layer, and by the method of growing a nanometer material in the porous material, the life of the electron source is prolonged; emission stability is improved; the threshold-voltage of the device is decreased; and the emission efficiency of the electron source is improved.
