The invention discloses a pattern design for a front electrode used for a solar battery, which comprises main grids and thin grids, wherein the thin grids are laterally distributed on a front electrode, the main girds are longitudinally distributed on the front electrode, the thin grids are connected in pairs by the main grids, and the connecting parts of the thin grids and the main grids adopt triangular structures. According to the pattern design, on a basis of not changing the original macroscopic appearance of a battery piece, through changing the microcosmic design for the thin grids, the condition of poor contact between the thin grids and the main grids can be improved, thereby effectively ensuring the transmission of current, improving the conversion efficiency of the battery piece and improving the printing yield; meanwhile, the cross sections of the main grids can be changed, so that the smoothness of the main grids can be improved, and the welding property is improved. The pattern design is simple in structure, has obvious beneficial effects, is realized easily and is suitable for industrial production.
