Two-Dimensional Cylindrical Model for the Chemical Vapor Transport of II−VI Compounds

2008
A diffusive-advective/convective chemical vapor transport model has been developed for a cylindrical, horizontal closed ampule in the absence of gravity. The transport of vapor forming component A through a reactive (or) transport component B which undergoes zero net transport was considered. The velocity profile and flow pattern were obtained from the coupled transport equations for momentum, mass, and energy. The transition of transport rate from diffusion-dominated to convection-dominated regimes depends on the initial iodine concentration.
