Idiopathische hemimaxilläre Zahnhartgewebsdysplasie : Pdontodysplasie
2003
Regional odontodysplasia. Odontodysplasia is a relatively rare developmental abnormality of all dental tissues. A case report illustrates the characteristic signs and symptoms of this malformation. In this case, the dysplastic teeth were taken as simply carious for a long period. Clinical findings suggested a vascular cause of the malformation, which extended the time till diagnosis. Treatment objectives were to provide improved esthetics, to avoid the development of skeletal malformation and psychological effects, restored masticatory function, and space maintenance by the construction of a temporary prosthetic restoration. Various local and systemic factors were discussed. Vascular disturbances during odontogenesis were regarded as the most probable reason causing odontodysplasia in respect to literature review and clinical results of this case.
