The device comprises a first gas storage bottle, a second gas storage bottle, a U-shaped pipe with scales, an inflating ball, a pressure sensor, a data measuring and processing system, four bottle plugs, four three-port glass delivery tubes, a two-port glass delivery tube, a fixed seat and six cock-type air valves. In the method, the gas specific heat ratio is obtained according to an adiabatic equation of gas by detecting the parameters of the U-shaped pipe and the gas storage bottles under different statuses. The invention is rapid and convenient to measure.
