Information centers meet information needs of users by information resources that they have. Moreover, they enable protection of information resources and take on a cultural task by enabling emission of information included in these resources as well. Turkey has rich resources in terms of manuscripts and rare works such as books, documents, etc. which have archival value transmitted from the past until today. In order to sort these valuable information resources and provide for the services of users and making their translation into today’s Turkish when necessary and to provide academic and scientific contributions, it is necessary knowing Ottoman Turkish well. It is observed that information resources transferred from Ottomans are collected in specifically archive institutions and libraries. In order to benefit from these resources requires knowing Ottoman Turkish well at the same time. Academic education directed to information centers and services is provided in the body of Information and Records Management Departments. In the study, Old Turkish (Ottoman Turkish), which is one of the primary courses of library science and record keeping education in Turkey, has been evaluated along with the class contents in License curriculum in Information and Records Management Departments
