Influence of surgical treatment and radiotherapy of advanced intraoral cancers on acute inflammatory response, complete blood count and levels of subpopulations of lymphocytes
2011
Purpose: The purpose of this study as to evaluate a polymorphism frequency etween oral squamous cell carcinoma OSCC) patients and healthy volunteers. Materials and methods: 54 Japanese SCC patients and 60 Japanese healthy olunteers were included in the present tudy. To select regions with copy numer variations, we used tumor DNA rom 20 OSCC patients for compreensive genome-wide variability analysis sing array-based CGH (Agilent Human enome CGH Microarray 44B). The requency difference of selected gene polyorphisms was verified between 54 tumor NA and 60 healthy volunteers’ normal NA using real-time quantitative PCR. Results: We found a frequent deleion at chromosome 3q26.1 in OSCC atients by array-based CGH. It was a enetic deletion polymorphism with a gene requency of 0.293–0.368 in healthy volnteers (n= 60) and that of 0.129–0.195 n OSCC patients (n= 54). Detail analysis round the polymorphic region indicated hat breaking point of the deletion existed round the polymorphic region. Conclusions:Significant association of ene frequency for the deletion polymorhism between healthy volunteers and SCC patients suggested possibility of nvolvement of genetic factors related to his polymorphism in the occurrence of SCC. At the moment no gene is sugested to be present within 3606 kbp egion around this polymorphic region. lthough occurrence of the OSCC canot be explained by single-gene model, we elieve that it is of value to include examnation of this polymorphism to search for isk factors of OSCC.
