Ligament Tissue Pathology

2019
Tendons are connective structures with mostly parallel fiber arrangement. Tendons are interposed between muscles and bones and transmit the force generated in the muscles to bone. In this way they are responsible for joint movement. The point of connection with a muscle is called a myotendinous junction (MTJ), and the point of connection with a bone an osteotendinous junction (OTJ). The peculiar anatomic organization and metabolism are responsible for their unique function.
