The invention discloses a preparation method of a ternary anode material, wherein the general formula of the ternary anode material is LiNi(1-x-y-z)CoxMnyMzO2; the sum of x, y and z is less than 1; x is more than 0; y is more than 0; M is a doping element; the preparation method comprises the following steps of adding raw material salts into a first specified solvent according to a certain amount of substance ratio, so as to obtain reaction liquid A through magnetic agitation; adding a certain amount of organic ligand into a second solvent, so as to obtain reaction liquid B through the magnetic agitation; pouring the reaction liquid B into the reaction liquid A, which is being agitated, according to a certain volume ratio, making an obtained mixture react for a certain time in a continuous agitation state, and carrying out suction filtration, so as to obtain wet gel; pre-sintering the wet gel in a specified atmosphere to obtain a precursor, taking out and grinding the precursor, and subjecting the precursor to heat treatment in an oxidative atmosphere, so as to obtain the ternary anode material. The preparation process of the gel of the ternary anode material is short in used time; further, the heating by an external heat source is not needed; further, the obtained material has a spherical feature of which the appearance is regular.
