The quasi-static compressive and quasi-static splitting experiments have been carried out to investigate the mechanical behavior of EPS concrete with different size and containing of EPS beads.the quasi-static compressive stress-strain curves of EPS concrete show:the compressive strength of EPS concrete is seen to decrease significantly with a increase in EPS bead containing,the EPS concrete with EPS volume fraction below 10 percent exhibited the quasibrittle behavior,the EPS concrete behavior with high EPS bead containing is very different from the EPS concrete with low EPS bead containing,the quasistatic compressive deformation mechanisms is analysized.Further,it is observed that the particle size effect is very pronounced for the compressive strength of EPS concrete than that for the splitting tension strength of EPS concrete and becomes negligible for very high EPS bead containing.last, the feature of compressive deformation and splitting tension deformation is analysized.
