Provided is a technology that easily enables the provision of position information. In a method executed by a position information provision system provided with a plurality of label modules, which transmit wireless labels, and a position information server, which provides position information in accordance with the wireless labels, the label modules convert illumination light from an illumination apparatus to electrical power and transmit wireless labels to a range in accordance with the illumination light irradiation range by means of the electrical power, the position information server receives a request for position information corresponding to the wireless labels from a user terminal that has received the wireless labels, refers to a position information database that records the correspondence between the wireless labels transmitted in a range corresponding to the illumination range by the illumination apparatus and position information relating to the installation position of the illumination apparatus, extracts the position information corresponding to the wireless label regarding which the request was received from the user terminal, and transmits to the user terminal the position information extracted in accordance with the wireless labels.
