Impacto de la pandemia COVID- 19 en el crecimiento económico enfocado al producto interno bruto: caso Ecuador. Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on economic growth focused on gross domestic product: case of Ecuador

This research begins with a prospective narrative of the economic growth of the world and its regions, preferably including Ecuador. The objective was to analyze the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on Ecuadorian economic growth. The applied methodology had a quantitative approach, with a quantitative analysis of secondary data, the inductive-deductive method was used with an exploratory, descriptive and correlational level. Student's t-statistic was applied for related samples, a longitudinal study was carried out of the independent variable Pre-pandemic economic growth (years 2016-2019) and the dependent variable Postpandemic economic growth years (2020-2023). As a result, it was obtained that the variables do not show significant differences between the 2 periods of time studied, concluding that the COVID-19 pandemic only explains 9% of the economic slowdown suffered by Ecuador, the difference is attributed to other factors.
