Computer Applications on the Central Artery/Tunnel Project

1993
Boston's Central Artery/Tunnel (CA/T) project consists of the reconstruction of a 4.2 mile segment of Interstate Route 93 in downtown Boston, a 3.3 mile extension of Interstate Route 90 easterly across Boston Harbor to the vicinity of Logan International Airport, and construction of appurtenant facilities. The project cost is estimated at 5.8 billion dollars. Project goals include the reconstruction of an expressway to modern standards; the making of 22 acres of downtown land available for parkland or development; and the relieving of road congestion.
