The invention relates to an apparatus for sensing vehicle footplate position which comprises: footplate components, crank arm and angular rotation sensor. Wherein the footplate components, footplate and footplate revolution axis tube are welded together, and they are installed on the footplate mount with wear proof plastic cover, revolution axis bolt and nut; the footplate revolution axis tube is equipped with retraction spring, and the sensing pin of the angular rotation sensor and the upper end of the crank arm are welded together, one end of the sensing pin inserts into the hole on the revolution axis bolt, and the other end inserts into the angular rotation sensor, the lower end is installed on the footplate by crank arm bolt. The invention has the advantages of simple and of high accuracy.
