THE EFFICACY OF LOW MOLECULAR WEIGHT HEPARIN AND DILTIAZEM IN THE TREATMENT OF UNSTABLE ANGINA PECTORIS

2001
Objective To investigate the efficacy of low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) and diltiazem in the treatment of unstable angina pectoris (UAP). Methods 58 patients with UAP were divided into 2 groups. The UAP subject group consisted of 31 patients, receiving LMWH, diltiazem and conventional therapy, including glucose-insulin-potassium (GIK), aspirin, betaloc, nitroglycerin and vitamin E, while the other 27 patients served as controls, receiving conventional therapy only. Results The efficacy of the therapy of LMWH and diltiazem was better than that of the control in terms of the clinical manifestations (u= 2. 59, P0.05), the total efficacy was significant (X2 = 4.59 p0.05 ). The total efficacy of ST-T changes in electrocardiogram was also significant (X2=4, 18, p0.05). Conclusion LMWH and diltiazem therapy is effective for patients with UAP.
