8.04 Reduction of CO to CHOH by Metal-Catalyzed Hydrogenation and Transfer Hydrogenation

This chapter summaries the progress in hydrogenation and transfer hydrogenation of carbonyl groups made mainly in the past two decades or so, covering hydrogenation with H2 of functionalized ketones, simple ketones, aldehydes and CO2, and transfer hydrogenation of aldehydes and ketones.
