Sensor equipped wheel support bearing assembly

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wheel bearing with a sensor capable of firmly fixing a load detection means to the bearing without any slip and accurately detecting loads acting on the wheel bearing and the ground contact surface of a tire for a long period. SOLUTION: The wheel bearing is provided with: an external member 1 in which a double-row rolling contact surface 3 is formed in its inner circumference; an internal member 2 in which a rolling contact surface 4 opposed to the rolling contact surface 3 is formed in its outer circumference; and double-row rolling elements 5 interposed between the rolling contact surfaces 3 and 4 opposed to each other of both members. Part of a fixed-side member in both members is provided with a thick-wall part 1b having partial wall thickness. A load detection means 20 for detecting loads acting on the wheel bearing is fixed to the surface of the thick-wall part 1b. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
