The invention discloses a method for pushing a message in a browser and a browser device. The method comprises the following steps: connecting the status bar and the sidebar plug-in of the browser; taking the status bar as a message pushing inlet of the sidebar plug-in, and showing the pushed message in the status bar; receiving the indicating information of the pushed message, and executing the corresponding operation according to the indicating information. Under the condition of not influencing the page display, the pushed message in the status bar of the browser can be displayed intuitively, without the clicking operation, so as to facilitate providing the push information for a user, which increases the message handling speed while reducing the operation of the user.
