Group as space of transit and non-places Cultural development of post-modern age is complex and contradictory; culture in our new millennium is changeable in virtue of technical growth and mutable condition of life. Places have more and more lost their influence on social and cultural relationships. Because of global influences, not only big metropolis have changed, but even towns and districts have acquired a new viewpoint as their characterization is now due the presence of interlocutors in a persistent transit instead of inhabitants or residents. We ought to begin conceptualizing the condition of the new millennium man as a transitional state, or as the possibility to explore a new world , to create new itineraries and find new meanings. This leads to experience a feeling of disorientation or attraction, that is something familiar for who is involved in this sort of ” meeting with the unknown.” Non-places represent a result of cities changing from consistency and coexistence spaces into transitional ones. Our study, carried out with foreigners residing in Italy, wants to explore those non-consistent connections, between migration and individual crisis, into those circular relationships among place of origin,migratory course and host country; and analyze which role is played by non-places as regard sudden changing of cultural codes, and systems of existence and sociality.
