The low-energy 3He(d, p)4He and 3H(d, n)4He reactions with polarized deuterons

Abstract In a data-independent approach we have studied the 3 He( d , p) 4 He and 3 H( d , n) 4 He reactions at low multichannel resonating group model. In agreement with the data of Leemann et al. we find that the 3 He( d , p) 4 He cross sections are not purely determined by the 3+ 2 resonance at E Lab = 430 keV, but have also contributions from other partial waves. These contributions are noticeably smaller for the 3 H( d , n) 4 He reaction.
