Auger - photoelectron coincidence spectra of gaseous : decay of selected ionized states

1996
Auger spectra are generally interpreted as decay of a core-ionized state. However, not only the pure core-hole state but also shake-up and shake-off configurations contribute to conventionally excited spectra. The interpretation becomes difficult whenever the various Auger transitions are observed at the same kinetic energy. Using Auger - photoelectron coincidence spectroscopy we here demonstrate the possibility to obtain unique decay spectra of the pure core ionized single hole state and the singlet coupled shake-up satellite state of .
