Case histories of sulfide corrosion: Problems and treatments

The 1987 Water Quality Act requires the US EPA to study sulfide corrosion and control options in collection and treatment systems and to report the results to Congress. Five waste water systems that have experienced sulfide corrosion problems have been studied. The article describes the history of the problem, as well as monitoring and repair of corrosion.
