A comparison of two different methods for sperm separation in artificial insemination with husband semen

2004
157 semen samples were treated with two different methods. Following parameters including sperm count , motility, normal morphology rate, acrosome morphology and serm chromatin were analyzed before and after treatment. The clinical pregnancy rate of intrauterine insemination (IUI) using sperms treated with two different methods waas also observed. After treatement, there were significant differences in the following parameters including spermatic motility, the rates of normal morphological sperm, sperm with intact acrosome and normal chromatin when compared with non treatment for both methods (P 0.05). Both Wang tube and Percoll gradient centrifugation methods could improve sperm quality. However, no significant difference was found in clinical pregnancy rat in IUI for both methods.
