Production, purification, characterization, and copper induction of laccase isoenzyme in the lignolytic fungus pleurotus florida

The white rot fungi Pleurotus florida was obtained and stored at 4°C .The enzyme laccase was produced on basal media and the enzyme activity and protein content was estimated. Different substrate (Saw dust, coir pith and straw) was used for the maximum laccase production. The enzyme characterization was done by studying the effect of pH and temperature on laccase activity, and the optimum day for laccase production were also calculated. For the induction of enzyme production, copper was used in different concentration, among these 150 μM CuSo₄ induced maximum laccase production.
