Construction of Balance Ability Evaluating Equipment Based on Passive Motion

2011
This thesis evaluates the level of body balance ability, by adding a disturbance of horizontal displacement to the taster's feet, to collect the testee adjusting balance feedback data. It makes a contrast between the balance adjusting process curve, produced on condition that the feet get a disturbance, and Second-order system step response curve. It proposes the settling time as evaluation criteria of human balance. The design includes a body center of gravity projection force plate, consisting of three pull\pressure sensors, and adopts six-degree-of-freedom motion platform to supply a horizontal direction movement for the testee. The device includes an embed system, which owns the function of collecting analog signal, A\D conversion, coordinate calculation and sending data to PC. The host computer software, which is exploited by LabVIEW, adopts to display gravity position and save data. The off-line calculation software could handle data saved in the files with the form of MATLAB data, and calculate settling time Ts automatically, which is designed by the mixed program techniques of LabVIEW and MATLAB. Finally, hundreds of people were measured by the system, and after the off-line analysis, the thesis acquired a standard balance settling time range of normal citizens.
