Analysis of the common problems and reasons in the process of hospital injury surveillance

Objective To explore the problems and their reasons of injury surveillance based on hospital in China, so as to provide primary data and scientific basis for injury prevention more accurately. Methods Face-to-face and telephone interviews were used to communicate with staff of injury surveillance. Results Problems of injury surveillance were missing report, accuracy of information, completion of data, standard of evaluation and others. The leading influencing factors were different in different areas and hospitals. Conclusions It is suggested that the effective report process, improvement on the surveillance regulations, and promotion of staff's active attitude should be conducted so as to enhance the quality of injury surveillarce and provide a scientific basis for injury prevention in China.
