Electronic Transitions in Some Alkali and Chromium (III) Chloride Double Salts

Investigations are made of the absorption spectra — d-d transitions — of a series of A3CrCl6 double salts, where A = Li, Na, K, Rb, and Cs. Using Tanabe and Sugano's energy matrices for d3 configuration in Oh point group an assignment of the bands is made. An influence of the next alkali cation on the Racah parameter B is observed and qualitatively explained by introducing a new parameter μ depending on both the charge and the radius of cations. Es werden die Absorptionsspektren — d-d-Ubergange — einer Reihe von A3CrCl6-Doppelsalzen untersucht, wobei A = Li, Na, K, Rb und Cs ist. Mit den Energiematrizen von Tanabe und Sugano fur d3-Konfiguration in der Oh-Punktgruppe wird eine Zuordnung der Banden durchgefuhrt. Ein Einflus des nachsten Alkalikations auf den Racah-Parameter B wird beobachtet und qualitativ durch Einfuhrung eines neuen Parameters μ erklart, der sowohl von der Ladung als auch dem Radius der Kationen abhangt.
