Porosity Analysis of Granular Beds in Tubular Vessels

Computational formulas for the porosity of a bed are presented for ratios D/d ⩽ 3 of the diameters of the vessel D and grain d. The relationship between layer porosity and the ratio D/d, which was derived on the basis of experimental data obtained from a number of studies, is indicated.
