Diffusion in α‐Fe–Si Alloys

The diffusion coefficients for both Fe and Si diffusing in dilute α‐Fe–Si alloys have been measured. A value for the vacancy‐silicon binding energy has been calculated and an explanation offered for the concentration dependence of the silicon‐diffusion coefficients.
